Yiwei Gallery was founded as a house gallery in Playa Del Rey, California, featuring an artist-in-residence program for international artists.
In February, Yiwei Gallery made its first recognized art fair appearance at Photo LA, featuring a solo booth dedicated to the work of Chinese photographer Ye Wenlong.
Yiwei Gallery curated a sequence of four pop-up exhibitions across Los Angeles, spotlighting artists from the Asian diaspora and female creators.
Opening on Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice, California! Yiwei Gallery embarked on collaborations with local Venice artists and curated community-oriented events, such as artist talks, studio visits and regular art walks in Venice.

Yiwei Lu is a Los Angeles-based curator and filmmaker with an extensive track record of curating exhibitions around the world, including in the U.S., France, Italy, and China. She is dedicated to discovering emerging artists and supporting artists from diverse backgrounds. In 2019, she founded Yiwei Gallery, initially curating pop-up exhibitions throughout LA before finding a permanent home on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. Alongside her curatorial work, Yiwei writes for two professional art magazines and directs and produces documentaries.
French-born artist, Corinne Chaix, joined the Venice art community twenty years ago. In parallel with her own painting career, she has a passion for sharing and promoting the work of artists she loves. Kaizhou “Allegro” Yang is an artist and film producer with a BA degree in cinema studies from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He is committed to empowering artists to bring their creative visions to life. Allegro has a passion for impactful artworks that concern sociopolitical issues, especially the Asian diaspora.
With a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics, Mike Liu is passionate about using design as a means of self-expression. Mike works on branding and graphic design projects at the gallery.
