    About Yiwei Gallery

Founded by Yiwei Lu in 2019 in Los Angeles, Yiwei Gallery is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange through exhibition-making and supporting artists whose practices span disciplines and geographies. Originally conceived as a platform for underrepresented voices in contemporary art, Yiwei Gallery has consistently centered artists from East Asia and its diaspora. From 2021 to 2024, the gallery operated in Venice Beach, CA, with a new Los Angeles location slated to open in 2025. In 2024, the gallery launched a second location in Wuhan—a 5,000-square-foot venue focused on experimental programming—where works by American, European, and Chinese artists are frequently shown in dialogue.

    About the Founder

Yiwei Lu is a Los Angeles- based curator, gallerist, art fair founder, and filmmaker. As a dedicated collector of Asian artists herself, Yiwei founded her first gallery in Los Angeles in 2019, operating out of a house with an artist-in-residence program. This initiative later grew into Yiwei Gallery, which officially opened in Venice Beach in 2021. In 2024, the gallery expanded with a second location in Wuhan and launched its own art fair, C Art Festival.
