Yiwei Gallery is thrilled to announce our participation in Photo Fairs New York! Join us at Booth #347 as we showcase the works of Chinese fine art photographers Ye Wenlong, Yan Jinsong, and Jin Ting.
Launching at the Javits Center and running alongside The Armory Show, PHOTOFAIRS New York premieres with an invitation-only VIP Preview on Thursday, September 7th, and will be open to the public Friday through Sunday, September 8-10, 2023.
Celebrated for his fusion of Oriental aesthetics and contemporary styles, Ye's
work has been globally exhibited. Drawing inspiration from traditional East
Asian landscape paintings and poetry, Ye adeptly incorporates elements like
negative space and flat composition into his photography, adding depth and
dimension to his art. Ye's black-and-white photos, often set in winter landscapes, blend abstraction and representation.
Known for his collage-style photographic scrolls, Yan is showcased in institutions and collections globally. His art delves into themes such as Chinese
Ethnic Minorities, urbanization, and environmentalism in China. Inspired by
traditional painting scrolls, some of his works span an impressive 20 meters (65
feet). Yan masterfully blends people with expansive landscapes through an
innovative approach that merges on-site photography with digital collage,
resulting in a visually compelling representation of diverse life experiences.
An artist exploring industry, heritage, and urban life. His work reflects the
profound impact of industrialization on the land, evoking a deep sense of
historical consciousness. In his "Remnants of Time" series, Jin captures China's
decline after decades of industrialization, using unique color tones and visual
effects to blur the boundaries between history, reality, and the future.
